Lazaroo – Saturday, April 14, 2012
Apr 14, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a heart eager for life-change:
“But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them.”
(Joshua 2:4)
What a risk she took, Jesus.
If the king of Jericho had found out, he would have killed her on the spot.
The safe play was to be a good citizen and turn in the spies.
Why not?
She was living in a walled city that many believed was impenetrable.
Why would she throw in her lot with a band of homeless strangers who had been wandering in the desert 40 years?
These people were totally unlike anyone she knew.
They had radically different
beliefs
customs
values
and followed a God she had heard about only from a distance.
By contrast, everything she knew for certain was wrapped up in her old life.
Why was she willing to give it all up?
Maybe because, like I am –
she was sick and tired of her old life.
