Lazaroo – Saturday, June 9, 2012
Jun 09, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Fervently seek the wisdom of God, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
(Genesis 2:9)
That was a tough one for Adam and Eve, Jesus.
They didn’t do so well with it.
You told them not to eat its fruit
which made them crave it.
Of course, Satan showed up and helped push them over the edge
until they took a bite.
But for all that, it was on them.
They didn’t have to cave in to Satan.
You had given them that priceless, terrifying gift:
the freedom of choice.
With that gift they could have leaned on You, instead –
begging You for strength to withstand temptation –
and You would have been there for them
showing up with all Your power and might.
Frankly…I’m staring at that same tree right now.
Satan is hammering me nonstop.
Huh-uh.
Not this time.
