Lazaroo – Sunday, September 9, 2012
Sep 09, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with the wisdom of Solomon:
“Send me also cedar, pine and algum logs from Lebanon, for I know that your men are skilled in cutting timber there.”
(2 Chronicles 2:8)
Until You walked the earth, Jesus…
no one was wiser than Solomon.
In this handful of deceptively simple words he shows it:
He’s done his homework –
he knows exactly what kind of logs he needs
the kinds of trees that produce them
where they grow.
But he also realizes the right logs aren’t enough.
He needs skilled woodcutters –
men who know how to fell these trees
in this unique place.
Finally, he’s keenly aware that this king
can say, “No.”
So he works in a subtle compliment
along with his request.
All of this he does because of the greatness of his task –
the building of Your temple.
O God.
May the greatness of my
homework
preparation
wisdom
match the greatness of my Cause.
