Lazaroo – Thursday, December 6, 2012
Dec 06, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with over-the-top trust:
“From on high he sent fire, sent it down into my bones.”
(Lamentations 1:13)
This wasn’t a good fire, was it, Jesus?
This was a fire of intense suffering
triggered by Your anger
in response to persistent, willful sin.
I’m so thankful that You’re merciful!
slow to anger
quick to forgive.
It takes a lot to rouse You to this kind of fury.
But once I demonstrate to You that I’m no longer trying
once I prove by my thoughts, words and actions
that I just don’t care
I’m asking for it.
You are not a God to mess with.
You are not someone to dismiss lightly.
You will not be disrespected.
You will not be persistently ignored.
If I don’t begin my life with enough fear of You
to stop my sinning
I will certainly discover that I should have feared You
in the end.
