Lazaroo – Tuesday, January 10, 2012
Jan 10, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with knees knocking in holy fear:
“I will take back my wool and my linen, intended to cover her nakedness. So now I will expose her lewdness before the eyes of her lovers; no one will take her out of my hands.”
(Hosea 2:9-10)
How many times have You covered my nakedness, Jesus?
Again and again You’ve spared me from what I clearly deserved
treating me with compassion
instead of justice.
So what makes you go ballistic like this?
What brings Your longsuffering to an end?
What causes You to finally throw up Your hands and say –
“Enough!”
At what point do I cross the line from being the #1 recipient of Your mercy, forbearance, forgiveness and grace…
to “busted”?
Is it the moment I no longer sincerely repent
concluding that your gun shoots only blanks?
Or is it when I refuse to offer someone else
the outrageous forgiveness You keep extending to me?
