Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God, in sober self-evaluation:

“They will build houses but not live in them; they will plant vineyards but not drink the wine.”
(Zephaniah 1:13)

Tough curse, Jesus –

to do the hard work of building and planting
and not be allowed to enjoy the fruit of my labor.

What would cause You to do that to someone?
I don’t want that to happen to me!

It’s complacency, isn’t it –
thinking we can sin in full view of You

and get away with it

it’s calling You out –
claiming You’ll never do one blessed thing about it.

Whew!

I wouldn’t want to be in those shoes for anything.
