Ask God to help you pay Spirit-led attention, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him…”
(Romans 1:21)

It seems like such a simple thing, Jesus…

to thank You.

After all, why wouldn’t I?

You’ve created heaven and earth
all the beauty I see.

You’ve given me life itself
made me who I am.

You’ve given me a specific purpose for living
along with the means for discovering it.

No matter what wrong I’ve done
nor how often I’ve committed it

You’re willing to forgive me
for every bit of it.

In fact, You paid for my innumerable sins

with Your very life.

Now, You stand ready to help me every moment of the day.
All I have to do is ask.

I wonder how many times You’ve helped me
when I never even thought to ask.

And I can’t manage to breathe a simple, “Thank You?”
