Lazaroo – Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a heart eager for the fullness of God:

“When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact.”
(Daniel 2:14)

It’s a challenge for me to speak with wisdom and tact at any time, Jesus…

but this was no ordinary occasion for Daniel.

He was one of the wise men
the commander had been sent to kill.

Some people would have responded with terror

been paralyzed
gone into shock.

Others would have been livid with anger

screaming over the unfairness of this edict
demanding their rights.

Still others, upon learning they were moments away from death

would have sunk to their knees, unable to walk
blubbering like babies.

Not Daniel.

He responded with wisdom and tact.

That’s who I want to be!

How do I get there, Father?

Probably not overnight, huh?

Daniel’s relationship with You was

daily.
