Lazaroo – Sunday, October 18, 2009

1 comment, Oct 18, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with utter abandon:

“To Titus, my true son in our common faith.”
(Titus 1:4)

Paul didn’t have a son, Jesus – at least, not the ordinary kind.

He’s talking about a different kind of son, isn’t he?

A “true” son.

What could be “truer” than a son who came from his own body?

Unless…

Titus was a son because he shared Paul’s faith in You.

But that would make him Paul’s brother – because both of them looked to You as their heavenly Father.

So how could Paul’s brother…be his son?

Unless…

was Paul the one who shared the gospel with Titus
when he was born again?

And as Paul “reared” Titus in his faith –

did Titus obey wholeheartedly
becoming more and more like You?

Is that what it means to have a “true” son?

O God!

Please enable me to win sons and daughters

who are absolutely true…to You.

My ‘true son” in “our common faith”. The family of Christ “in the common faith”. We consider each other ‘Brothers & Sisters in the Lord”. “Sons & Daughters”, seem to speak of a much closer relationship here on earth, with each other. Interesting.
