Lazaroo – Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in holy wonder:

“‘In that day’” declares the LORD, ‘you will call me “my husband”; you will no longer call me “my master.”’”
(Hosea 2:16)

This prophecy had to puzzle them, Father!

For them, there was no difference between

“my master”
“my husband.”

They were one and the same.
The husband had total control over his wife.

But You were teaching them a day was coming

that would bring about stunning change.

You were letting them in on Your plan:

to end the frightening distance between them and You.

The death of Your Son on the cross tore the dividing curtain in two.

You would draw us close
invite us to experience You

intimately
as Best Friend.

I still obey You in everything –

not merely because You are my Creator, Jesus
but because – having given Your very life for me –

I know beyond the shadow of a doubt

that You love me.
