Lazaroo – Monday, August 31, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with Banzai belief:

“To those…who are loved by God the Father…”
(Jude 1:1)

You do love me, don’t You, Father?

Thank You for that.

I know You do.

But I have a terrible confession to make:

I have a hard, hard time relating to You.

I know. This isn’t news to You. You can feel my distance.

I’m so ashamed!

Obviously, it’s not Your fault – it’s mine.

It’s just that…the images of my natural father keep getting in the way of how I feel toward You.

That isn’t fair to You. I don’t want it to be this way.

I long to feel close to You!

But try though I might, I just can’t.

Not in my own strength.

Not with my baggage.

It’s going to take a miracle for me to feel close to You.

And so I beg You, loving Father:

Work that miracle in me!

In Jesus’ Name.

For me, images of my natural father don’t get in the way, but my sins and then feelings of guilt get in the way. I know He doesn’t want it that way, but I struggle with this. I feel close, then I drift. I know He never leaves me. I pull away from Him . Yes, Father, please work that miracle in me – in Jesus’ name.
    Amen
