Lazaroo – Monday, April 19, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a surrendered heart:

“So David went up there with his two wives, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel.”
(2 Samuel 2:2)

Help me understand something, Jesus…

King David was upright and faithful.
You called him a man after Your own heart.

So how did he get away with having two wives?

Later, he took more wives and added a few concubines, for good measure.

I know.

Different age. Different time. Different culture.

But I can’t help noticing…

You’ve granted Your people a lot of flexibility over the centuries.

What’s more, I’ve noticed some of the Christians living around me

seem to have a lot more freedom than I do
while others appear to have a lot less.

It’s hard not to judge the “excesses” of some
while feeling sorry for the “bondage” of others.

Where’s the line, LORD?

Or are You more interested…

in my heart?

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord , which is the Spirit.” 2Corithians 3:18

Just how welcome is the Spirit of the Lord in our lives?
The more we welcome His Spirit the more “freedom” our lives will reflect. You’re right Pastor, it’s a heart thing.
