Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in deepest, grateful devotion:

“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.”

There’s nobody I’d rather have defending me than You, Jesus.

There’s nobody smarter
nobody more powerful

nobody wiser
nobody with anything close to Your grasp of the facts.

Of course, that could be a problem.

You know too much

about me.

Every aspect of my life is an open book to You.

I can’t hide anything from You –
not even my thoughts!

You know what kind of client You have
inside and out.

So how could You ever defend the likes of me?

It’s not about what I’ve done or haven’t done, is it?
It’s about what You did…

on that terrible/glorious day on the cross

for me.
