Sharpen your focus, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“…applying your heart to understanding…”
(Proverbs 2:2)

That’s what it takes, isn’t it, Jesus?

If I want to understand – really understand –
what You’re doing with me…

I have to apply myself.

It’s not enough to just look at what’s happening

shrug my shoulders
move on to something else.

If something different catches my eye

comes to my attention
stirs something deep within me

I’ve got to recognize it as a potential teaching moment from You.

If I will only focus
walk around it from every angle
ponder it

get input from others
do a little research

I might learn something.

But not just anything.

You don’t highlight these things for me
without reason.

You have a purpose in mind.

There’s something I’m missing
something I don’t yet understand

an insight I need
to accomplish Your mission for my life

if I will only apply myself…

to understand it.
