Lazaroo – Sunday, August 19, 2012

4 comments, Aug 19, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“‘The Lord has done this for me,’ she said. ‘In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.’”
(Luke 1:25)

Few things are sweeter, Jesus –

than to look back at a wonderful thing that has just happened
and have it suddenly dawn on me…

it was You!

especially when the favor You showed me

was a long time coming

when I had prayed and prayed and prayed without discernible effect

and had pretty much concluded Your answer was:

“No.”

Only afterwards was I able to understand that it was all about Your perfect timing

not one day early
not one day late

that if You had given me what I wanted in the beginning

it wouldn’t have worked.

You know the prayers I’m still praying, Father.

What a day it will be
when I suddenly recognize

You did it again!

My fault, Paul. Posting it now! I’m thrilled that you count on your Lazaroo each day. Normally, I move heaven and earth to get it posted at one midnight after midnight. Today…I didn’t make it. Whenever that happens – and I hope and pray it’s exceedingly seldom – you’ll know to pray for me and the unexpected challenges that I suddenly confronted in my schedule! May God richly bless you in this daily adventure, my brother.
