Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with single-minded faith:

“And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands.”
(2 John 1:6)

So that’s when You feel my love, Jesus –

not just when I

pray to You
serve the poor
study my Bible
make sacrifices for You
give my tithes and offerings
sing songs of worship to You
experience church with other believers

not even when I lay down my life for You

but when I obey You.

Of course…

You’re the one who tells me to

give
sing
pray
study
serve
sacrifice
go to church

if need be, give my life for You
who gave Your life for me.

So when my motive for doing all of that is not

to get noticed
to receive praise
to follow tradition
to earn my salvation –

but to obey You

please You
put a smile of approval on Your face

It feels exactly to You…

like love.
