Lazaroo – Friday, January 22, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with faith-filled wonder:

“Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops.”
(Haggai 1:10)

Are You serious, Jesus?

Sorry.

Of course You are.

It’s just that…

a lot of people I know would scoff at the idea
that You would actually punish our sins
by negatively affecting the weather
and causing crops to fail.

To them, it sounds like some ancient superstition that doesn’t belong in this “enlightened” age.

But the more I think of it…

anyone who believes that the God who created the heavens and earth

isn’t powerful enough to hold back some dew…

anyone who believes that the Father who loved us enough to send His one and only Son to die on the cross for our sins

wouldn’t use crop failure to get our attention
and turn us around before it’s too late…

is, in fact the one who is

“unenlightened.”
