Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with transparent honesty:

“I was very much afraid.”
(Nehemiah 2:2)

I know You don’t want me to be afraid of anyone or anything except You, Jesus.

But I am.

Not always, of course…

but too often.

I don’t want to be.

I long not to be.

But try though I might, fear sometimes creeps in.

Oh, it may slink in disguised as anger. But few, if any, are fooled. As hard as it is for me to admit it, down deep I know: It’s still fear.

Fear that is

stalking me
hounding me
stealing my confidence.

Deliver me, O God!  Remind me of

Your love
Your power
Your goodness

and Your promise that You will

never leave me
never forsake me
never abandon me.

On You, my solid Rock I stand!

All other ground is sinking sand.
