Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep anticipation:

“I will restore your judges as in days of old…”
(Isaiah 1:26)

Judges are of incalculable benefit in our society, aren’t they, Jesus?

When we need to be protected
when we’re the victims of a crime
when we have nowhere else to turn

a righteous judge can make all the difference

redressing wrongs
punishing the wicked
restoring safety.

But a Godly judge is not only the friend of the victim.

A wise verdict can stop a criminal in their tracks
give them time to ponder their ways
an opportunity to turn their life around.

A wise judge can also protect the innocent from false charges

salvage a reputation
clear a damaging record
restore a life.

Give us more and more judges like that, Father!

Men and women who are passionate about justice
but who also understand the value of mercy

and know when…

to apply which.
