Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, taking God at His Word:

“Their hordes advance like a desert wind and gather prisoners like sand.”
(Habakkuk 1:9)

These Babylonians of old

are a lot like my enemies of today, Jesus.

Not my flesh and blood enemies…
my spiritual enemies –

those invisible but very real rulers
authorities and powers of this dark world
spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Most people don’t know they exist.

I admit that when I think of these spiritual beings
whose sole purpose is to

deceive me
destroy my effectiveness for You
take me captive to do Satan’s will instead of Yours

it can sometimes sound like a bad “B” movie

until I sincerely try to change my ways
obey You in some area of my life
I’ve never surrendered to You.

That’s when I discover I’m in the battle of my life –

a battle that in Your power alone

I must win.
