Lazaroo – Sunday, September 6, 2009

3 comments, Sep 06, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in stunned awareness:

“See, I will make you small among the nations.”
(Obadiah 1:2)

If You were willing to do this to the nation of Israel

the people You chose above all others

You will do this to my country, too –

if we make the same mistakes Your people made.

And that is exactly what we are doing.

O Jesus!

What is wrong with us?

Why do we persist in our sin?

Why do we ignore Your repeated warnings?

What makes us think we will be the first to escape the judgment that falls on every nation that turns its back on You?

It’s Your patience, isn’t it?

You are

so kind
so loving
so reluctant to do to us as we deserve

that we conclude You

don’t see
or
don’t care
or
don’t exist.

But You do…

as we –

God help us! –

are about to find out.

Jeff – I love your heart, man! You are right on. Our allegiance is not to a party. It’s to God. Which means we must evaluate each issue on its Biblical principles. Don’t ever apologize for the length of your response. Lazaroo is all about passion for God – and you’ve got a ton of it.
