Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in overwhelmed gratitude:
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.”
(Ephesians 1:7-8)
O Jesus.
You didn’t pay money to buy me back from the clutches of Satan
You bought me with Your own blood.
You didn’t merely overlook the impossibly long list of my sins
You utterly, completely and totally forgave every single one of them.
You weren’t just nice to me
You lavished on me the incalculable riches of Your grace!
But the thing that gets me the most
is that You did these amazing things for me
“with all wisdom and understanding.”
You know exactly
how often
how deeply
how heinously
how inexcusably
I’ve sinned.
But to this very day, hour, minute and second
You continue to lavish me with Your unfathomable
mercy, forgiveness and love.
