Lazaroo – Sunday, October 11, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:

“Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the LORD in the Tent of Meeting and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.”
(2 Chronicles 1:6)

No wonder You appeared to him after all that, LORD!

Solomon worshiped on this huge, ancient bronze altar Personally designed by You.

He didn’t offer You one gift…

ten gifts
even a hundred –

he offered You a thousand!

I can’t compete with that, Jesus.

The places I’m able to get alone with You for a few minutes are

ordinary.

Compared to Solomon’s, the gifts I have to offer You are

paltry.

Solomon was Your anointed king over all Israel. I’m just

me.

And yet…

You laid down Your life for me.

You invite me to come to You

with nothing in my hand
wherever I find myself

just as I am
without one plea.

O Lamb of God!

I come.
I come.
