Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, from the depths of your soul:

“…the transgressions of Israel were found in you.”
(Micah 1:13)

Oh, Jesus.

When I read in Your Word that Solomon declares

“There’s nothing new under the sun,”
at first I’m baffled.

I want to say – “Wait a minute!

“What about planes, trains and automobiles?
What about computers, smart phones and missions to Mars?”

But that’s not the stuff Solomon is talking about, is it?

He’s referring to our human nature.

Through Solomon…

You’re telling me I’m just as subject to error
as he and his generation were.

It’s true.
God help me, it’s true!

In spite of everything You did for them, Your people strayed.

They kept sinning the same old sins
over and over and over again

ad nauseum.

No wonder that upsets me so much, LORD!

When I read about their repeated failures
I’m staring into an ugly mirror!

That’s me to a T!

Please.

No more.
