Come closer, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him…”
(Job 2:12)

That’s not only true of Job’s friends, Jesus.

It’s true of me.

When I see people from a distance

I hardly recognize them.

When I stay far away

I misunderstand them
assume they’re someone they’re not.

It’s only when I take time to come close

draw them out
really listen

that I begin to see the awesome

gifts
skills
abilities
experiences

that have made them into this one-of-a-kind person
