Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in total trust:

“The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David…”
(Luke 1:32)

That was quite a promise You made to King David, Father –

that his throne would be established forever.

You kept Your promise to him

as You do every promise You’ve ever made.

Of course, as is almost always the case…

You didn’t keep Your promise to David
the way he probably imagined You would.

Your way…was infinitely better:

Jesus.

Please help me remember that

next time I’m counting on You
to keep Your promise to me.
