O Jesus.

For whatever reason – by circumstance or by my foolish choice –

I know how it feels to be among people

who don’t love You
don’t honor You
don’t respect You
don’t want anything to do with You.

I hurt for them.

But when I’m with them
I hurt for me, too.

I can feel them pulling me away from You

the way they live and think
beginning to sink talons of death into me.

Whenever that happens, Father

Deliver me!
