Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with experienced humility: 

“Convinced of this, I know…”
(Philippians 1:25)

The moment I read these words, Jesus…

I cringe.

Or if I don’t, I should.

Earlier in his life, You gave Paul a caution:

“The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know.”

Was he right in believing they needed him?

Yes.

But there was no way he could know how short that time would be.

Five years.
That’s all he had left.

Yes, he “remained.”

But not for long.

Nobody really remains.
Not here.

Next time I’m convinced otherwise…
