Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with no-holds-barred commitment:

“…because of the truth.”
(2 John 1:2)

Is this what motivates me to action, Jesus?

Truth?

Or am I simply a “truth collector” – a person who entertains myself by collecting nuggets of truth on which I have no intention of acting?

The “truth” is…

I sometimes fool myself into thinking I love the truth because in my mind – or even in my heart! – I agree with it.

But that’s a trap, isn’t it?

I haven’t really agreed with the truth until it becomes part of my life.

Until it changes something.

Until it makes me do something I’d rather not.

Until it keeps me from doing something I want to do.

Until it sets the course of my life on a different trajectory.

Please forgive me for viewing “truth” as some abstract concept.

Down deep, I know the Truth.

It’s You.
