They’re like the child who enters a neat playroom

who leaves five minutes later, bored
the floor strewn with ripped boxes and broken toys.

Which raises the question:

What do I leave behind?

Are those whose lives I’ve touched in a better place?

or do they have to call in a crew of toxic waste specialists
to clean up my mess?
