Lazaroo – Tuesday, March 23, 2010
Mar 23, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sober determination:
“If thieves came to you, if robbers in the night—Oh, what a disaster awaits you—would they not steal only as much as they wanted? If grape pickers came to you, would they not leave a few grapes? But how Esau will be ransacked, his hidden treasures pillaged!”
(Obadiah 1:5-6)
Oh, Jesus.
Don’t ever let me stray so far from You
that I force You to punish me like that!
These people were precious to You – descendants of Your highly esteemed Abraham and Isaac.
But their pride brought them down.
They assumed their favored status would last forever
no matter what they did.
They thought the incredible patience You showed them while they kept stacking sin upon sin
meant You would never lower the boom on them.
But they were wrong –
as wrong as I will discover I have been
unless I stop my sinning.
