Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with single-minded determination:

“…make every effort to add to your faith…self-control…”
(2 Peter 1:5-6)

Self-control is an interesting thing, Jesus.

I’ve got it where others don’t.
Others have it where I don’t.

There are times when it’s strong within me all day long
and other times when I’m so weak I’m absolutely ashamed of myself.

So here’s my question:

If I am able to exercise strong self-control in some areas of my life all the time
and in all areas of my life some of the time

why can’t I exercise it in all areas at all times?

Well, okay.

I can’t.
You can.

You in me are stronger than any temptation that arises in my mind or my body.

You have given me everything I need to resist anything Satan offers me.

In Your strength I can exhibit total self-control.

So why don’t I?
