Lazaroo – Sunday, May 30, 2010
May 30, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:
“Since she gathered her gifts from the wages of prostitutes, as the wages of prostitutes they will again be used.”
(Micah 1:7)
This is strong language, Jesus.
Your people sold themselves to other gods
to get what they wanted.
For a short while, they felt smug, smart and superior.
But they’re about to discover
everything they thought they had gained
was a loss
all the evil they did to others
is about to be done to them
they are about to become the lowly, despicable thing
they once despised.
What goes around, comes around.
Help me learn from their mistake, LORD!
Is there anything – absolutely anything –
that looks so good to me
that I want so much
I stupidly think it’s worth turning my back on You?
Please remind me:
Any food I taste in disobedience to You
will turn to maggots in my mouth.
