Lazaroo – Thursday, November 11, 2010
Nov 11, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with clear-eyed judgment :
“Solomon accumulated chariots and horses; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses, which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem. The king made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills. Solomon’s horses were imported from Egypt and from Kue…”
(2 Chronicles 1:14-16)
This is impressive stuff, Jesus.
Solomon was only the third king of Israel – yet in that short time
he was able to acquire all those horses
amass all that silver and gold.
Too bad he disobeyed You to do it –
forcing You to punish him.
How is it that the wisest man who ever lived (apart from You)
could make such a series of dunderhead moves?
It was those closest to him who led him astray.
Gut-check time:
Is there anyone close to me
who’s doing the same?
