You’re the God of fire.
You’re a consuming fire.

When You revealed Your commandments through Moses

You spoke out of a mountain blazing with fire.

Millennia ago, when people invented a false god of fire

You settled the issue with fire straight from heaven.

So, Jesus…

because that’s who You Are – God!

when You came to earth
You came to bring fire.

You will test all my actions by fire

and only what is pure and right and holy
will survive.

But Your fire doesn’t merely destroy!

When You birthed Your Church 2,000 years ago
You did it with tongues of fire.

Your fire warms
Your fire gives light

Your fire draws me to You like a moth to the flame.

When I put my faith in You

You put Your fire in me.

Make it blaze.
