Lazaroo – Sunday, September 25, 2011
Sep 25, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning zeal:
“Where you go I will go…”
(Ruth 1:16)
What a blank check, Jesus!
Please help me understand – why did Ruth say something that strong to her mother-in-law?
Maybe Ruth had no deep attachment to her current home.
Perhaps she had an idea where Naomi was headed
and thought it sounded promising.
But the biggest reason had to be Naomi herself.
Ruth had to genuinely love her mother-in-law
to enjoy her company
to deeply respect her
to trust her without reservation.
That’s what I offer You, Father – a blank check:
Where You go I will go.
I relinquish my attachment to my earthly home.
I know exactly where I’ll end up if I follow You – heaven!
Please forgive me this gross understatement:
It sounds extremely promising!
But my biggest reason is You:
I genuinely love You
I enjoy Your company
I deeply respect You
and I trust You without reservation.
