I love that You heard Jonah’s prayer
from deep in the belly of a fish.

I’ve been in a few “fish bellies” in my day, LORD!

Every time I’ve cried out to You from the depths of my soul

in sincerity of heart
in accordance with Your Word
in keeping with Your perfect will
in Your powerful Name

You’ve heard me.

Of course…I’ve cried out frivolously a few times, too.

Thank You for not answering my stupid prayers!

I was upset at the time, because I didn’t understand.

I’m not upset now.
I’m truly grateful.

Too often, I’m like a child who thinks it would be great fun to run out into the street and play in the traffic.

Thank You for lovingly telling me:

“No.”
