Lazaroo – Tuesday, June 4, 2013
Jun 04, 2013 I Lazaroo.
As you pray aloud, ask God to fully prepare you through the words of this Lazaroo:
“So they began this good work. But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us.”
(Nehemiah 2:18-19)
They’re always out there, aren’t they, Jesus –
the mockers
ridiculers.
They’ve always got something to say that hurts
discourages
divides
disrupts
undermines.
They don’t care that I’m trying to accomplish something good.
They’re not trying to help.
Their goal isn’t to correct.
To them, it’s a game, a hobby, a pastime –
this blood sport of unjust criticism.
So long as their arrow finds its mark
so long as they see me grimace in pain
they’re satisfied.
They’ve accomplished what they set out to do.
By nature, they’re faultfinders –
and no matter how hard I try to do everything right
there’s always fault to find.
Shut them up, LORD!
by enabling me to complete
the work You’ve given me to do.
