Lazaroo – Saturday, June 8, 2013
Jun 08, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in gritty determination:
“In all this, Job did not sin…”
(Job 2:10)
Those words blow me out of the water, Jesus.
They intimidate the fire out of me, too.
Few people have ever suffered like Job suffered.
In a single day, You allowed Satan to
turn him from a rich man into a pauper
kill all his kids.
When that wasn’t enough to convince Satan of Job’s goodness
You allowed Satan to inflict him
with a debilitating, humiliating
excruciatingly painful illness.
Piled on top of all that was the loss of respect in his community –
everyone assuming he had committed some great sin
had brought all this suffering down on himself.
Then there was his wife
precious little thing that she was
sweetly telling him to curse You and die.
Thanks, Honey.
I’m no Job.
But if he hung tough after all that
In You…
so can I.
