Lazaroo – Sunday, June 30, 2013
Jun 30, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo to Your God who can deliver you – wherever you are:
“I led you forty years in the desert…”
(Amos 2:10)
I know a little bit about deserts, Jesus.
Deserts are places
where the environment is hostile
where the inhabitants can be deadly
where it’s agonizingly cold
or unbearably hot
where it feels like the most basic of needs
may never be met.
Deserts can be
lonely
miserable
terrifying.
In fact, by those standards, deserts can have names other than
Sahara
Gobi
Antarctica
Kalahari
Mojave
Negev
Personal deserts can be found
in large cities
during national holidays
at parties, celebrations, major events
at church, family, class reunions.
You led Your people into a desert.
They didn’t like it.
You worked miracle after miracle for them there.
They still didn’t like it.
But when they came out, they were ready to enter the Promised Land.
When You’ve led me through my last desert, LORD…
I’m trusting You for the same.
