Lazaroo – Saturday, July 27, 2013
Jul 27, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Walk softly before the LORD, as You pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“I went in response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. But I did this privately to those who seemed to be leaders, for fear that I was running or had run my race in vain.”
(Galatians 2:2)
What a scary possibility, Jesus –
to think I might delude myself
into believing I was serving You
keep doing that my whole life long
then stand before You on that Day of days
only to discover I was mistaken.
I can’t bear the thought.
Neither could Paul.
That’s why he humbled himself
went to known leaders more experienced than he
laid out for them everything he was doing
sought their counsel.
He far preferred to have them show him where he was wrong so he could immediately correct it
than keep his pride intact.
O God!
Grant me the humility of Paul.
