Humble yourself, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo: 

“In the evening she would go there and in the morning return…”
(Esther 2:14)

A lot can happen in a few hours, Jesus.

How many times have I set out with one expectation
and returned facing a totally different reality?

It’s so humbling to admit how much I don’t know

how wrong I can be
how little control I have over anything.

It’s terrifying, too.

So long as I guess right, I feel fairly confident.
But when I guess wrong on something truly important

it knocks the slats out from under me.

Bottom line?

I can’t depend on me

The only thing that’s sure

is You.
