Lazaroo – Saturday, November 29, 2014
No comments, Nov 29, 2014
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in steadfast confidence:
“Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one, which you have had since the beginning.”
(1 John 2:7)
Those can be the hardest commands of all to obey, Jesus –
the ones I’ve had from the beginning.
I tend to take them for granted
get tempted to upgrade to something with a little more wiggle room.
“Besides,” says this familiar voice in my ear, “they’re outdated.
“Nobody lives like that anymore.”
That’s a lie, of course.
Though the majority may not follow Your ancient commands
millions do.
Count me in.
I’m still one of them.
