Lazaroo – Wednesday, September 24, 2014
No comments, Sep 24, 2014
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with an attentive heart:
“Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one…”
(1 John 2:7)
We don’t much care for the word, “old” anymore, Jesus
except in things like wine and antiques.
We want everything new.
If it breaks, we’d rather not fix it.
It was old anyway.
Get a new one.
Sometimes that makes sense.
Sometimes new is better.
Sometimes old needs to go bye-bye.
But not always.
Sometimes what’s old is
proven
solid
reliable
safer
tested
wiser
beautiful
Please grant me the spiritual discernment to know
when to hold onto the old
and when to let it go.
