Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sharpened purpose:

“The people served the LORD throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him…”
(Judges 2:7)

Okay…tough reminder, Jesus –

some of the people with whom I spend time every day
will outlive me.

They’ll get the news of my death
discuss me in hushed tones.

What will they say?

I hope they’ll laugh
thinking of the good times we shared.

I hope they’ll be genuinely grateful
for the difference You’ve used me to make in their lives.

But I’ll have no way to influence their words about me then.

My time to invest in their lives
is now.
