I have to know that when I hurt…

You hurt.

Otherwise, I’d feel like an ant at the mercy of a cruel boy

wielding a magnifying glass
focusing the rays of the sun
on my defenseless body.

Because I know You could stop any pain I feel

anytime You want to.

So when You don’t stop it
allowing the pain to go on and on and on

it helps me trust that there’s a good reason
when I know You truly care.
