Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with new eyes:

“I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and rich produce.”
(Jeremiah 2:7)

You don’t bring everyone into a fertile land, Jesus.

You place some of us in barren fields

to toughen us
strengthen us
teach us how to survive

to give us hearts of compassion for the hurting
by letting us experience their pain firsthand.

But how many times have I complained about my circumstances

though You had actually planted me in a fertile land

but I was so busy whining
that I couldn’t see the difference

between obstacle
and opportunity?
