Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“I will make every effort…”
(2 Peter 1:15)

Here I am, Jesus, starting a New Year…

knowing I need to say what Peter did:

“I will make every effort.”

But will I?

There have been countless times I’ve claimed to do “everything I could”

but in reality…
stopped short.

Too often what I mean is –

“I’ll make every reasonable effort.”

But it’s those who make the unreasonable effort

who win the prize, isn’t it?

So on this, the first day of 2014, I face the real question:

Do I want to win the prize?
