Lazaroo – Sunday, October 20, 2013
No comments, Oct 20, 2013
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud all the way to the marrow of your bones:
“In your anger do not sin…”
(Psalms 4:4)
That’s a short command, Jesus
and a hard one.
Not hard to understand
hard to do.
There is such a thing as righteous anger.
What kind of person would I be if
miscarriages of justice
atrocities
betrayal
willful wrongdoing of any kind
didn’t fire me up?
But I’ve got to be extremely careful with that anger, don’t I?
I’ve got to be sure it’s fueled by Your values
not mine.
Otherwise, in my self-righteous fury
I’m liable to commit some of the same sins
that made me so angry in others.
