Lazaroo – Friday, August 9, 2013
No comments, Aug 09, 2013
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with Godly recognition:
“‘What is this you are doing?’ they asked. ‘Are you rebelling against the king?’”
(Nehemiah 2:19)
No, Jesus…they weren’t rebelling against the king
They were rebelling against a king
The king…is You.
Everyone else is just a pretender to the throne.
Of course, it’s possible to rebel against You when I rebel against some lesser king
or a president
mayor
police officer
boss
teacher
parent.
If You hadn’t instituted the concept of authority
we’d be left with anarchy.
As loathsome as it can be to obey an incompetent leader
or one who is corrupt, self-centered, or lazy
the alternative is even worse.
When everyone does what is right in his or her own eyes
an immeasurable amount of wrong gets done.
But when any leader – no matter how powerful – commands me to sin against You
that’s when he or she will discover:
I have only one King.
